3 signs you are called to serve in ministry

1. Having the perfect career and making a ton of money aren't very impressive.

Being rich is a beautiful thing.

I'm not speaking from experience by the way, I had tuna fish for dinner every night this week.
Just kidding. Only 3 nights.

I have plenty to be thankful for and I don't live in extreme poverty or anything, but when you factor in student debt, my salary and my lack of family inheritance...

The point is, I would love to be rich.

God controls all the money in the world and He loves when Christians are prosperous.
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18

Still, being rich doesn't drive you. When you think about your future, the first thing you see is not a big house or a big bank account.

The first thing you see is probably one of the following:

The hungry being fed
 The blind seeing
The homeless finding shelter
Orphans being parented
Widows being protected
Tens, hundreds, thousands (radical ones) of souls being won for the Kingdom

Now we're talking.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33

2. You spend your spare time doing research on biblical principals and opportunities to serve.

I know what you're thinking. What is spare time?

Spare time can be defined as what you usually don't have right before you sayyy...

Most of us have a million obligations and hardly enough time to maintain a healthy sleeping schedule. But it is true, we make time for the things we care about.

So when you decide to take a break form studying, working, cleaning or pretending to be an adult, you go right where your heart is pulling you.

You enjoy checking websites about worship, ministry and missions. You enjoy studying scripture on these subjects and hearing testimonies from those who inspire you. While you just sit there in awe like...

HASHTAG. GOALS.

It's like you couldn't keep yourself from the things of the kingdom if you tried. And you have.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8

3. It bothers you when something doesn't align with God's Word.

When something isn't getting done the way Jesus would do it, you don't like it.

You are passionate about the things Jesus is passionate about and you know that your actions can make a difference.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

Are you called to serve?

Gosh I hope that's not tuna fish.

  1. I think these three things are all great. I think its also important to know that God calls us into ministries at different times. I know right now he is not calling me into ministry, but any day he could :)

  2. Sometimes I feel like you're a candidate to serve in ministry when you think that God's calling you to do something else, ha. He's funny like that.

  3. Yes! And he doesn't only call us full-time.

  4. His word says in Matthew 28:16-20 The great commission is to make disciples out of all nations. We should be baptizing and teaching the lost. This is a commandment from Jesus. The time is now to start being bold and unashamed of the gospel.

This was on point. Thank you for using your writing to create a place where the body of Christ can have a heart check. For me, I'm called to serve. I know... It's just VERY UNCOMFORTABLE a lot of the time. I want to be comfortable.. but then my heart beats for SOULS. So Obedience it is :) In Jesus' name

  6. Yeah you strike me as the "millions of souls" type. Just saying.
